Texas Team Sports Basketball is played in accordance with the 2009-2010 Rules published by the
National Federation of State High School Associations, with the following limited modifications listed here.
The current version of the TTS Basketball rules is 4.20. The board of directors approved this version at its monthly board meeting in April 2010. Major changes are:

Changed Rule 31 to add that the third overtime period will be sudden death, first team to score wins. |
Major changes in version 4.1 are:

Changed the senior set of rules to include the 13U Division. |
§
Changed Rule 33 for all Divisions to remove the requirement for undershirts to be the same color. |
Major changes in version 4.0 are:

Changed Rule 18 for all Divisions except 6U to read: Only 2 coaches allowed on the bench with players. Only the Head Coach may stand during the game. The Head Coach must remain within the marked coaching box at all times. If no box is marked, the Head Coach must remain at least 3 feet from the nearer edge of the scorers table. Violation of the coaching box is a direct technical foul. If the Head Coach is assesed a direct or indirect tech foul he/she must remain seated for the remainder of the game. |

Changed Rule 24 for all Divisions to add: Players may sit during a 30 second time out. |
Major changes in version 3.60 are:

Changed Rule 9 for all Divisions except 6U/8U to add: The clock operators have the discretion to stop the clock any time a player or coach is delaying dead ball actions in order to run time off the clock. |

Changed Rule 30 for all Divisions to add: Any player ejected from a game will be assessed a minimum one game suspension to be served at the next game the player attends. A second ejection will result in a minimum suspension for the remainder of the season. No refunds in this situation. |
Major changes are in version 3.5 approved in June 2008 are:

Changed Rule 9 for all Divisions except 6U. The clock will stop for all technical fouls. |

Changed Rule 26 for all Divisions. League uniforms must be worn for games, both shorts and jersey. Violation will result in one technical foul charged directly to the head coach when a participant wears an illegal jersey or shorts. Game management may enforce this rule at any time during the game if not previously assessed by game officials. |
Major changes are in version 3.4 approved in March 2008 are:

Changed Rule 2 for the 12U Division. The ball size for the 12U Division is changed to the compact ball (28.5 in). |

Amended Rule 12 for the 6U & 8U Divisons. The second isolation play violation per half will result in an unsporting technical foul charged directly to the head coach. |
§
Amended Rule 17 for all Divisions. The second illegal defense or backcourt violation per half will result in an administrative technical foul charged to the team. |
§Amended Rule 18 for all Divisions except the 6U. If a head coach is charged with a direct or indirect technical foul he/she must remain seated for the remainder of the game. |
§
Changed Rule 20 for the 6U Division. The 6U Division may start a game 4 on 4. |
